GHOSTS OF YIN-JIN
SHERPA (MOUNTAIN FOLK)
The Sherpa claim to have always been in Yin-Jin, far in the north and high in the mountains. They even claim to have once served the ancient Yu. Their descendants are the Dongren that live mostly in and around Chaofeng. The Sherpa however, are most plentiful around the city of bells, Pulao. The reason for this was that the Blind Monk himself was born of the Sherpa mountain folk before he reached enlightenment and began teaching the Path of Man. When the Red Monastery was built, many Sherpa followed him and settled in Pulao. The Path of Man has become an intrinsic part of Sherpa life and they hold tight to its philosophies. The Sherpa are typically of heavy build and of medium height, they have an affinity for beads and polished bone jewelry. They have come from some of the most inhospitable terrain that Yin-Jin has to offer, and seem able to survive under the most brutal of conditions. The Sherpa are a very open people however, and often welcome strangers into their home, hospitality is an important part of their tradition. If their trust is abused however, they will find that the entire community will turn their backs on the transgressor. There are rumors there are even Sherpa tribes living for to the north and high in the mountains that remain largely ignorant of Yin-Jin at all.
: The Sherpa are among the hardiest people alive, they have thrived for centuries on cold mountain tops where the snow never leaves. A Sherpa
character receives a +5 hardiness, and may have a maximum score five higher than there rank would allow.
